Welcome reception

The get-together welcome reception is to be held in the Masarykova Hall on Tuesday, 13 July 2010 from 18.00 to 20.00.
Dress code: casual
Price: Included in the Conference fee.

Symposium dinner (beer party)

The Grand Monastery Restaurant shall host this function on Wednesday, 14 July 2010.
The buses to the event location depart at 19.00 from the meeting point in front of Diplomat hotel.
Located in the area of Premonstratensian monastery at Strahov (founded in 1140), the restaurant interior arched rooms as well as outside terrace provide a cool and serene place, ideal for the evening discussions over the beer!
The Grand monastery restaurant is located at Strahovské nádvoří at Pohořelec, Prague 1.
Dress code: casual

Guided tour with dinner

Prague from a different perspective; get a glimpse of the city of Prague during a guided walk with a quiz!
Refreshing evening boat ride onboard of a traditional steamboat Vyšehrad.
Departing on Thursday, 15 July 2010 at 15.00 from the meeting point in front of the Diplomat hotel..
The boat departs at 19.00 from the Čechovo nabřeží (Čechovo quay), Prague 1.
Dresscode: casual; walking shoes essential.
Price: Included in the Symposium fee.

The guided tours listed below are not included in the registration fee - please make sure you register for the tours required during your Symposium registration procedure.

Price includes English speaking guide and A/C coach transfer to the Prague Castle and back from the city centre to the Masarykova kolej.
Duration: 4 hours

This insightful historical tour lets you enjoy the city’s most famous sights. The tour starts at Prague Castle (Hradčany), registered as the biggest castle complex in the world. It established itself as the spiritual centre of the Bohemian sovereigns from the 9th century and since 1918 (foundation of Czechoslovakia) it has served as the residence of presidents. A visit to St. Vitus Cathedral is included. The tour then follows the “Royal Route”, the former promenade of kings and part of the official coronation by foot. Winding down to Lesser Town and picturesque Kampa Island you will cross the famous Charles Bridge and continue to discover remarkable monuments in the Old Town area. The sightseeing tour ends in front of the Old Town City Hall with its extraordinary astronomical clock.

This insightful historical tour of the Old Town of Prague lets you enjoy the city’s most famous sights such as the Powder Tower, the Estate Theatre, the Charles University, the Old Town Square, the Charles Bridge with the Prague Castle Panorama, the Jewish Quarter and other sights. You will discover the astonishing history of the Jewish community in Prague, which can be traced back to the middle of the 10th century. Miraculously many outstanding monuments have remained intact despite WWII. The visit includes the Jewish Museum located in various Prague Synagogues and Old Jewish Cemetery.
